Welcome to Discovering Deaf Worlds!

We aim to educate ourselves and others on ways to improve accessibility for Deaf/Hard of Hearing communities around the world. Discovering Deaf Worlds travels internationally to research the language, culture, opportunities and pressing issues within Deaf/Hard of Hearing communities. Our organization is dedicated to giving deaf people worldwide a voice.

What We Do:

Interview and film deaf leaders on issues of communication access, cultural diversity, deaf education, and job opportunities
Report our travel adventures from a visual perspective through a monthly e-newsletter
Raise awareness and draw exposure to the beauty and diversity of international sign languages
Create possibilities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals, schools, organizations, and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) in need of adequate resources to fulfill their goals
Share our discoveries through public appearances and school visits

Discovering Deaf Worlds has traveled around the world, visiting New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, Cambodia, India and Nepal. Future trips are in the planning stages as our organization expands.
