Visual language is a unique and powerful asset to the culture and connection of Deaf communities. Through the art of expressive visual storytelling, many Deaf people have the gift to portray their struggles, successes, and everyday experiences in a way no audio language can accomplish. Sign languages are 3-Dimensional and therefore add an intriguing element to communication, self-expression, and understanding.
While visiting various Deaf communities around the world, Dave and Christy will be capturing a variety of folklore and traditional stories told by native Deaf signers. After their travels, they will put together a DVD collection of these stories from New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, India, Nepal, Kenya, the United States and many more. Their vision is to draw more exposure to different sign languages and common Deaf experiences from around the world.
